JANUARY 2016

ROUND 4!!

Round 4 kicked off back at the beginning. The location where Wakeboard South Australia held their first ever competition. Sturt Reserve, Murray Bridge.
The day started looking gloomy and dark, yet calm, which made for great conditions for riders majority of the day.
Due to a time restriction there was a to limit rider numbers set at 55, yet there were 15 riders on a waiting list in hope some people pulled out!

The day went without an issue, and some superb riding was thrown down behind the Moomba Mojo and Supra SA400.
The day would not have been possible without the amazing help from all the volunteers in the various jobs throughout the day, judges, boat drivers and those at registration.
Even more, without the fantastic sponsorship from Above Board Store, Supra and Moomba Boats and Southside Wakebaord School we would not have had the Moomba Mojo and the Lane family's Supra SC400 throwing out big clean wakes for our riders. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
Picture
Not to be forgotten is a major award which was given to Wakeboard SA's newest Life Member.
Adam Bruce.
Long time rider, supporter, sponsor and all around great guy!

DECEMBER 2015

ROUND 3 WRAP UP!!
Picture
Round 3 bought with it glassy water, a hot summers day and the largest competition for the season.
Parked on the banks of the Murray River at the picturesque Caudo Vineyard, the atmosphere, amazing turn out of spectators and 59 registered riders bought a big day on the water.

A big thank you must go out to the rounds sponsors:
Pavati Australia - for providing their AL-24 to tow the competition! Most important milestone was that Wakeboard SA were the first club in the world to have a Pavati tow a competition.

Elevated Clothing Australia- For supplying great prizes for the competition winners and providing a great stand on the day.

Nuke Optics- For yet again having a great presence and supporting wakeboarding. Plenty of great deals and support for Wakeboard SA

Caudo Vineyard - What is not to love about this location. Great atmosphere, wonderful hospitality and location is superb. A big thank you to the Caudo family and their employees for making Wakeboard SA so welcome and assisting us with hosting such a great competition.

NOVEMBER 2015

ROUND 2 WRAP UP!!

Picture
It was Saturday November 7th, Berri Ski Club and it looked like mother nature was going to release fury for the whole day.
With the tow boats in the water, rail anchored, the day kicked off with the Rookie divisions running back to back for the first time. Within an hour, clouds cleared and the sun showed it's face to bring some great conditions for the day.
Each division was hotly contested with large numbers in the Invert and Invert Advance divisions.

Throughout the day the Berri Ski Club had a wonderful BBQ cooking from breakfast all the way through the day. Keeping everyone well fed and hydrated.

Wakeboard SA would like to thank the Berri Ski Club for their generosity over the whole weekend, allowing the club to use their facilities to run the event. It would not have been possible without them.

It was another positive competition with 48 riders hitting the water. These large numbers are so great to see, and to see such a variety in riding levels is just as exciting. Wakeboard SA is stepping it up!

Round 2 was Proudly Sponsored by Matrix Marine, Tige Boats South Australia, Rapid Surf and Ski and Ronix Australia. We are extremely grateful for their assistance and for providing 2 boats - Tige R20 and Tige Z1 for the event.
Ontop of that, a big thank you to our Major Season Sponsors - Infinity Signs and Moore Stephens Accountants, and our Minor Sponsors, LKI, United Chemists and Langhorne Creek Wine Region.

Lastly, a big thank you to everyone who volunteered an hour or so of their time to help out throughout the day. Without your help, the day would not run as smoothly as it did.

This round's raffle was another great success and look forward to bringing a BIG Christmas Raffle for Round 3.

Round 3 Registration is up online at Trybooking.com and ready for you to register.
Remember Round 3 is Saturday December 5th and is a weekend event with the club's Christmas Party on the Sunday 6th December.

ROUND 1 WRAP UP!!!!

Picture

Held at Whitesands Caravan Park, Round 1 was a big success.

For the first competition of the 15/16 Summer, the whole Wakeboard SA committee are ecstatic that we had 52 riders turn up to compete!
Thank you all for coming along and supporting Wakeboard SA!!!!

Mother Nature turned on pretty well a perfect day for us at Round 1, apart from a strong breeze for around an hour or so just after lunch, the water then glassed off again for the remainder of the day. Yet again the Whitesands Caravan Park supported our event, and have for many years - a big Thank You to the Hines Family for hosting us at the park and for yet again allowing us to use your great riverfront facilities.

With 20 years of support from Matrix Marine a big thank you must go to them for stepping in at last minute to tow the event.

52 Riders saw each category hotly contested and some great riding go down. See the Results page for all the Round 1 placings.

Without the amazing committee and volunteers the day would not have been successful. A big appreciation to those who drove the competition boat, judged, rope doped, dock marshalled, drove the pick up boat and course patrol jetski, commentated, scored, ran the BBQ, sold raffle tickets, towed trailers, set up and packed up.

We were extremely fortunate to have Joey from Joey McQuade Photography come out and spend the whole day on the lense, snapping shots of our riders. The photos are up on his facebook page now and all the action from the day can be viewed in our Gallery!

Fundraising is a key component to keeping the club going, and our raffle was a big success this round. If it weren't for the likes of the Scaffidi family, The Aird Group, Terminus Hotel, Golden Grove Sportspower and Surf Store and Waterskiiers Connection for their donations, we wouldn't have such exciting raffle prizes! All the fundraising money goes back into the club to help make events bigger and better for all the riders.

Round 2 is November 7th 2015 at Berri Ski Club, Martins Bend Road, Berri.
We will have a BBQ firing again and another exciting raffle going!!

Stay tuned for an update later this week for registration link and more information regarding Round 2.
