This year WAKEboardSA in conjunction with leading business’s in Renmark have really stepped it up, this year’s event was bigger & bolder than ever before, with the support from Team management, riders and all our fantastic members and sponsors helped to make this event an absolute blockbuster.
The emphasis remaining unchanged with a family friendly environment concentrating on the needs of the children with the affectionately named “NEMO” kiddie castle keeping the littlies occupied under adult supervision. This year with the help from our friends at Dunlop and Ford Performance Racing allowing us to Borrow” Mark Winterbottom’s Promotional Car certainly created some fantastic picture opportunities for the V8 Supercar Enthusiasts
SORRY NO HOT LAPS NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY IS OFFERED
SA Motorbikes provided Kawasaki Jetski’s and putting on a show for the crowd – plus the Kawasaki team allowed people to experience some of the most sophisticated Jet skis in the world with FREE Rides – I speak from Experience if you have a hankering for speed these things will take your breath away.
The Matrix Expression provided the muscle for this year’s competition and was hosted by the multi-talented Brett Hill, The night before the competition I took the time to sit down with Brett and chew the fat with the sole purpose of getting to know him better. I must say Brett Hill is truly a real genuine GENTLEMAN of our industry with nothing but positive things to say about the direction of the sport and business in general – the authenticity of Brett’s character only reflects the integrity and commitment to the workmanship that goes into every boat that is built by Matrix Towboats.
The weather really came out in all its glory and had people jumping in the water to cool off – with near perfect conditions helping to make one of the most memorable events to date. The Double up Competition (UNDER LIGHTS) was Absolutely Spectacular with crowds of over 400 people coming to watch a truly unique event – cheering for the local riders and WBSA members really got them motivated to put on a show, with Chris (Captain America) hosting the event proved to be a real winner with the crowd. The overall atmosphere was electric and I personally was blown away by the hospitality of one of the most beautiful townships on the Murray – It’s easy to understand why Renmark is one of the favourite holiday destinations attracting families from all around Australia.
